Dont Die 1.1 Update


This is gonna be a general simple update based on some feedback and bug reports I received and while watching the game. but first lets go over some new features that were also added. Not a giant major content update because there was a lot of small stuff I had to rework and touch up since the initial release.

Features:

  • New Raise Dead spell in the death spells
  • New Flame walker spell in the fire spells
  • The ability to haul and move corpses around (even between maps)
  • Inventory and Equipment icons added for direct access to their contents
  • Slightly Increased the number of maps that can be generated
  • Campfires now scorch the ground when placed
  • Merchants will buy wheat and cabbage, and Sell wheat kernels
  • Villages now grow cabbage

Bug Fixes:

  • Wheat and cabbage no longer grows instantly when planted
  • Clicking interface Icons no longer causes the character to use their weapon or attack. 
  • Game no longer black screens after having a child
  • Workbenches and campfires now behave correctly when destroyed
  • fixed wall graphics in the castle areas
  • Can no longer use beds indefinitely while starving to death
  • Player is now slightly less likely to get stuck on objects when entering a few maps
  • Npcs will not randomly fight with trees and rocks anymore

That's all the changes for the 1.1 update of the game which will be available shortly after I publish this Devlog. Also I'll be keeping the 1.0 version up until the next update. So there will always be the latest version available and the previous version.

The next update is going to be a larger content addition, and I would like more feedback and suggestions before I get started. Here's a handful of possible ideas for 1.2:

  • Ridable animals such as horses and unicorns
  • Stoves and more cooking recipes, new cooking interface
  • Potionmaking
  • Dragons, cyclops, Giant crabs, leviathans, possible treasure
  • More furniture and building options
  • Space tome with portal magic and new magic weapons

Currently you can only haul human and dog corpses. I can add more creatures to be haulable if somebody wants that, just let me know.
